The town of <strong>Valldemossa<\/strong> and the surrounding <strong>Serra de Tramuntana<\/strong> may be the best choice.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\">LA SERRA DE TRAMUNTANA<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>La Serra de Tramuntana is a mountain range<\/strong> on the northwest coast of Mallorca.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Since 2011 it is one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UNESCO World Heritage Sites<\/a><\/strong> thanks to its unique landscape characterized by terracing, mills, dry stone constructions, olive trees, orange trees and vineyards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The origin of its landscape goes back to the past <strong>Arab control<\/strong> over the island. Facing the scarcity of water they had to built a canalization system that changed the territory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The best way to enjoy this wild region is by car.<br \/>\nThe <strong>Ma10 road<\/strong> runs through the entire Serra, <strong>from Andratx to Pollen\u00e7a<\/strong>, showing you breathtaking views of the sea.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Serra de Tramuntana Aerial Video\" width=\"1220\" height=\"686\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/R4hCD6nS11E?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\">THE TOWN OF VALLDEMOSSA<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Valldemossa<\/strong> is a small mountain village, with <strong>only 2000 inhabitants<\/strong>, perfect for those who wants to discover the true spirit of the island.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Located <strong>just 17 km from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.my-rental-homes.com\/blog\/what-to-see-eat-and-drink-in-palma-de-mallorca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Palma de Mallorca<\/a><\/strong>, it has plenty of shops, art galleries, cafes and restaurants. Moreover, the surrounding forest of olives, oak and almond trees hides paths and trails for <strong>great hiking experiences<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">THE REAL CARTUJA<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>The Real Cartuja is the main attraction of Valldemossa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">It was built in the 14th century as a <strong>royal residence<\/strong>, then abandoned since the Carthurian order transformed it into a <strong>monastery<\/strong>. Eventually the monks were expelled in 1835.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This former monastery is particularly known for having been the temporary residence of <strong>Chopin and his lover George Sand<\/strong>. In 1838 they spent three months in the Real Cartuja, trying to live their love in peace.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The link between Valldemossa and Chopin is still strong nowadays. Tourists come to town to visit the room in which he lived &#8211; which is in his original state, with his music and piano on display. And <strong>every august since 1930 Valldemossa is home to the Chopin Festival<\/strong>, during which many famous musicians perform.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">PANORAMIC SPOTS IN VALLDEMOSSA<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">The charm of Serra de Tramuntana can be fully admired from some panoramic spots located in the surroundings of Valldemossa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Among these, two are really unmissable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The first one is <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>Mirador del Puig de Sa Moneda<\/strong>, built by Archduke Lluis Salvador. It\u2019s at about 3.5km from the town center and offers great views on the coast and Valldemossa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The second one is <strong>the Mirador de Miranda des Lladoner<\/strong>, near the Real Cartuja.
