About an hour’s drive from Tel Aviv<\/a> is Jerusalem<\/strong>, the capital of Israel and probably the most contested city<\/strong> on Earth.<\/p>\n Considered the main religious<\/strong> center for the Jews, the Christians and the Muslims, Jerusalem is a city that has a lot to offer even to those interested in a holiday that has nothing to do with faith or pilgrimages. It is the most important holy site in Jerusalem for the Muslims<\/strong>. The importance of this shire is due to the fact that both the Jews and the Muslims believe that it is built on the site where Abraham offered his son to God<\/strong>. Moreover, it represent the earliest religious structure<\/strong> to be built by a Muslim ruler.<\/p>\n
\nHowever, the holy sites<\/strong> in Jerusalem are so rich in history and charm that are worth a visit. At least those most venerated by the three great religions.<\/p>\n3 UNMISSABLE HOLY SITES IN JERUSALEM<\/h2>\n
1) The Dome of the rock<\/h3>\n
\nIn the\u00a0Old City<\/strong> of Jerusalem there\u2019s a sort of square where are four minarets and\u00a0three monumental buildings:
\n-the\u00a0al-Aqsa Mosque<\/strong>, said to be one of the oldest mosques in the world,
\n– the Dome of the Chain<\/strong>,
\n-the Dome of the Rock.

\nThe Dome of the Rock is a UNESCO\u00a0World Heritage Site<\/strong><\/a> and its golden cupola is for sure Jerusalem’s most popular landmark<\/strong>. However, the colored tiles that decorate its facades aren\u2019t the 6th-century original ones, but faithful copies produced in Italy during the 1960s.<\/p>\n
