It’s Time for the Ravello Music Festival 2025

The Ravello Music Festival 2025 is one of the most anticipated summer events on the Amalfi Coast. Until late August, the town of Ravello hosts sublime melodies in a captivating and unforgettable setting, where the sky and sea seem to merge into a single horizon.

The Ravello Music Festival and Wagner

The history of the Ravello Festival is deeply linked to a name that evokes greatness; Richard Wagner. It was in 1880 that the German composer visited the gorgeous Villa Rufolo in Ravello and found the inspiration for the enchanted garden of Klingsor, a scene from his masterpiece Parsifal. To honor the bond between the town and Wagner, in 1953, the Provincial Tourist Board of Salerno decided to create a musical event dedicated to aficionados of the German composer. Since then, the festival has grown and transformed to become an international benchmark, having hosted the most prestigious orchestras in the world and the greatest conductors, from Herbert von Karajan to Riccardo Muti.

Villa Rufolo, the Stage Suspended Over Infinity

The heart of the entire festival is Villa Rufolo. This monumental complex, dating back to the 13th century, is an incredible fusion of Arab-Norman and Byzantine styles and is home to a marvelous garden with a Belvedere that offers fantastic sea views. However, every year, on this Belvedere a particular stage is set up for a special concert. The stage projects boldly towards the sea, giving the illusion of being suspended in the void and it is the setting for the evocative Concert at Dawn, during which classical music accompanies the sunrise in a thrilling and moving spectacle that is hard to forget.

Attending a concert in this location is an enchanting experience; the perfect acoustics mingle with the sea breeze and the view of the coast view of the coastline emerging from the darkness of night.
